Beratan Lake

According to legend, Lake Beratan was once a single large lake in Bali but was divided into three lakes by a massive earthquake. Today, Lake Beratan is the most famous lake in Bali and is recognized as one of the 20 most beautiful lakes in the world.

Located in the Bedugul area, Candikuning Village, Baturiti District, Tabanan Regency, Lake Beratan is surrounded by lush green hills.

The water from Lake Beratan is used by local residents to irrigate their rice fields and gardens. The lake’s high altitude gives the Beratan region a cool, often chilly climate.

Lake Beratan is one of Bali’s most famous natural attractions. It offers spectacular scenery, with its large caldera and the iconic Ulun Danu Temple being highlights of the Island of the Gods.

Lake Beratan is a popular destination for international tourists and is frequently used for filming and video documentation. The area offers a unique view and stunning panorama.

There are six sacred sites around Lake Beratan: Penataran Agung Temple, Dalem Prajapati Temple, Dalem Purwa, Lingga Petak, Beji Park, and a Buddhist Stupa.
